How To Choose A Personal Stylist

by Wendy on December 6, 2010

There may be many reasons why you want to work with a personal stylist, and there are just as many ways a personal fashion stylist can help you.

Whatever your reason for using a personal stylist, having someone objective with an expert eye reviewing your wardrobe and advising you with your shopping decisions can make all the difference!

But with so many stylists and personal shoppers out there, the choice can be overwhelming. Here are three questions you should ask a personal stylist before you start working with them, and of course the kind of answers you want to listen out for.

Training

What sort of training they have received? Was it a hands-on, practical course or just a correspondence course? Are they accredited with an industry association or another official body?

Experience

How many years of experience they have had? What are the range of people they are used to working with? Doe they specialise in any particular area, such as men or women, special occasions, new mothers, etc?

Attitude

Do they seem professional and pleasant? Do they listen to your concerns and to what you want?

How Smitten With Style measures up

We provide you with only trained and experienced stylists, hand-picked from the industry. We are completely independent from any shopping centre and do not take any commissions from retailers. Wendy, our head stylist is a member of the Association of Image Consultants International (ACI).

We have helped over 600 women and men in the years we have been operating. All of the stylists at Smitten With Style have been formally trained by our Head Stylist. Because we believe that nothing can beat real-life experience, all our stylists must also record a minimum number of hours of hands-on training (no correspondence training!), and must receive 100% positive feedback from their training before they are able to join the team.

This is our assurance to you of our standard of service excellence and quality.
